A look back at 2024

It’s time for a little trip down memory lane to see what 2024 brought to the table. A year full of fresh challenges, unexpected growth, and plenty of chances to get creative. From experimenting with new art to tweaking my marketing game behind the scenes, 2024 was all about learning, adapting, and—let’s be honest—figuring things out as I went.

Now, here's a rundown of the 2024 highlights!

Your favourite print was:
Summer Wildflowers in Bloom

An old favourite making a strong comeback! This piece has been selling steadily since it hit the sale area earlier this year. It gave it the boost it needed to finish the year on a high note!

My Favourite painting was:
Crawford Street

I loved painting scenes around my town this year, but my favourite piece I created was this painting of my grandparent's home in Invercargill.

My Favourite Commission

I loved painting several big commissions this year, but I really loved revisiting the Hooker Valley Track for a customer.

My Favourite painting from the Everday Calm Collection was:
Dappled Light

My Favourite NZ Bird painting was:
Kākāpō No.2

The colour I reached for again and again this year

My biggest takeaway from 2024

I’ve realized that being present in the process is just as important as the final result. Sometimes, art doesn’t come out the way we expect, but those moments are valuable too. Whether I’m painting in the studio or simply observing the world around me, I’ve learned to embrace the journey, knowing that every piece, every brushstroke, every failed attempt contributes to something greater.

I also made a conscious effort this year to take time for myself, whether it was stepping away from the studio to recharge or just slowing down to appreciate life in its simple moments. Art teaches me to be present, and I’ve learned that allowing myself the space to breathe actually helps me create better work in the long run.

A Sneak Peek into 2025

Looking ahead to 2025, I’m beyond excited for what’s to come. The new year feels like a fresh start, with plenty of exciting projects on the horizon. I’m already in the process of planning new collections and experimenting with some new ideas I’ve been sitting on for a while. One thing I’ve learned is that creativity ebbs and flows, and I’m embracing the opportunities for new directions and fresh approaches in my work.

A Heartfelt Thank You

Finally, I want to send a massive thank you to all of you who’ve supported my art this year. Whether you’ve bought a print, shared your thoughts with me, or simply followed my journey, your support means everything. You’ve helped me keep creating and pushed me to grow as an artist.

I couldn’t have done this without you. Your encouragement fuels my passion and reminds me why I do what I do. So, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
