What inspired the TRAILS landscapes?

I loved the endless parade of amazing views on the Routeburn and my time on the trail. These paintings are all inspired by those happy moments. 
 
They meditate on the beauty of a hike through one of NZ's prettiest landscapes. and explore the diverse landscapes of the Routeburn Track; from the top of the world surrounded by giant peaks, or low in the valleys amongst the dewy alpine meadows & streams.

ROUTEBURN FLATS
Inspired by a stop for lunch in an alpine meadow with stunning views of the Routeburn valley, while surrounded by giant mountain peaks. Bliss.

LAKE HARRIS
I found lot's of inspiration from the walk around the bluffs, high above Lake Harris.  The views were magical! 
Above Lake HarrisAround the Bluff no.1, and  Around the Bluff no.2 were inspired by this spot.

THE HARRIS SADDLE
 I loved the dynamic landscape around the Harris Saddle. I loved the flow of the mountains, and land and how all the lines sloped and flowed with each other.
Alpine Valley, and In the Clouds was inspired by this spot.

ACROSS THE VALLEY
The second day of the track took us through a beautiful alpine valley, towards the Harris Pass. The scenery was stunning and vibrant and only got better and better as we climbed. 
April Moon, Onward, Valley Trail, Starting the Climb and Looking Back took inspiration from this valley.
