July Round Up

I've been working in my sketchbooks a lot this month, trying out compositions and playing with ideas. I'm still interested in capturing the sweeping slopes and the scale of the scenery from the Routeburn track. It's all still a work in progress but it's been great for getting ideas down quickly.

My sketchbook work has lead me to working on three larger pieces, all derived from my time on the Routeburn. All three are in the messy middle stage of a painting but are heading in the right direction. I'm excited to see where they take me next.

This month I was sent several photos of my friends and family's pets. These photos are always welcome. Here is a selection...

In non-art/animal related content, I visited Hobbiton early in July. It's such a pretty place and definitely worth a visit!
