Spring, Eventually // Original Painting

Part of the Elsewhere 2026 collection

I took the photograph behind this painting on a walk with Pip at Auckland Botanic Gardens in spring 2019. Cherry blossom and kōwhai, and a note to myself that I’d like to paint it. Seven years later, I finally did. Spring, Eventually brings me back to that afternoon, with the pleasure of finally getting to something I’d wanted to do for years.
